About Me

Coming from a background in social work and psychology with a great deal of interest in the Abstract Expressionists movement, my love for painting and my practice is influenced by life experiences and the natural world. When I find myself ready to paint, I enjoy listening to music, preparing my palette and disconnecting from everyday distractions.

As a self-taught painter, I begin with mark-making, then experiment with different types of media, finding my flow as I go. I allow my heart, my mood, and my ideas to lead me. Abstract paintings evolve layer upon layer, until they are completed. I love the freedom of abstraction applied not only in my painting practice, but to life itself!
